Seems a bit ridiculous to use carbon zinc batteries when almost every other clock uses standard alkalines. The clock is beautiful and looks great, but had to order and WAIT for carbon zinc batteries. Instructions say the clock will not keep time with a standard alkaline battery.It’s pretty, the right size. But I didn’t think about being able to see the time at night. You can’t.Love this clock! It's made of metal, so it's sturdy, yet not super heavy. I hung it with just a nail. It arrived fast and looks just like the pictures. I ordered the smaller 21.5 inch one. The instructions specifically say to use a AA CARBON battery, instead of alkaline, which are a little hard to find, so I haven't tried the clock. I'm sure it would work with an alkaline but I love it so much I want it to work as long as possible, so I'll use the battery the seller recommends, when I can find them. Might have to order that online. No big deal. They are not expensive or anything. Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase and definitely recommend this clock.
